Decline in number of rural petrol forecourts in UK

Transport Minister urged to prioritise support to safeguard remaining stations



The number of rural petrol stations throughout the north and north-east has fallen sharply over the last decade. Official figures released by the Conservative Party showed forecourts and associated shops in Aberdeenshire dropped from 55 in 1999 to 30 last year.







In Angus they fell from 15 to five over the same period.
